About the Company
fab2 (formerly Atomic Semi) was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. The team designs and builds all the hardware and software needed to make chips, including the fabs, tools, and components themselves.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of semiconductor equipment, including components, sub-assemblies, tools, and fabs
- Own completed tools end-to-end, including calibration, testing, and maintenance
- Build wire harnesses and solder through-hole and SMT components
- Conduct in-process testing of components and completed tools to verify functionality
- Use CAD models, drawings, and BOMs to perform builds and verify part revisions
- Partner with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to improve equipment designs and assembly processes
- Support bring-up and installation of tools and fabs, troubleshooting issues alongside engineering
- Use light fabrication equipment like 3D printers, laser cutters, and jigs to produce parts and assembly aids
Requirements
- 2+ years building electro-mechanical assemblies from drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
- Methodical attention to detail in testing and quality verification
- Track record of working with engineers to troubleshoot and improve designs and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in mechanical inspection of assemblies and components
- Experience with precision assembly or vacuum systems
- Experience with end-of-line testing and integration
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory systems
