About the role
Responsibilities
- Build a variety of electromechanical parts and assemblies according to procedures and specifications
- Perform production builds, testing, and monitoring of manufacturing processes for superconducting magnets
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement
- Use precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and detailed work instructions
- Operate production, testing, and high-powered magnet equipment
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality departments to meet production goals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ years of electromechanical assembly experience
- 6+ years of mechanical or electrical assembly experience
- Proficiency with various hand tools and precision calibrated instruments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as standing or sitting for extended periods
- Dedication to safety in an environment involving heat, cold, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with winding equipment, PLC, or material processing
- Experience working with cryogenic chemicals (LN2 and Helium) or vacuum systems
- Skills in soldering, harness builds, wiring, or electrical schematics
- Experience with epoxy potting, injection molding, or plumbing
