About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess aircraft hardware and software design to identify potential safety hazards and propose mitigation solutions
- Conduct safety hazard analysis across production, modification, and operational phases of F-15 fighter programs
- Investigate reported production aircraft hazards, risks, and safety concerns including Supplier Notice of Escapement (NOEs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
- Identify systemic root causes for safety and mission assurance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Document safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation, and verification activities in compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in investigations of in-service fleet safety issues, including in-flight emergencies and mishaps
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree
- Level 3: 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in USAF or U.S. Military Maintenance
- Experience with safety analyses such as Risk Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), or Fault-tree Analysis (FTA)
- Aerospace industry experience with Flight Controls, Flight Controls software, or Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems
- Experience with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action and Root Cause Corrective Actions
- Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-STD-1388-2B, S1000D, GEIA-STD-0007, or MIL-PRF-5041
