Production Systems Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assess aircraft hardware and software design to identify potential safety hazards and propose mitigation solutions
• Conduct safety hazard analysis across production, modification, and operational phases of F-15 Fighter programs
• Investigate reported production aircraft hazards, risks, and safety concerns including Supplier Notices of Escapement (NOEs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Identify systemic root causes for safety and mission assurance issues and recommend corrective actions
• Document safety analysis, hazard mitigation, and validation activities in compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in investigations of in-service fleet safety issues, including in-flight emergencies and mishaps

Requirements

• Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience
• Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in USAF or US Military Maintenance
• Proficiency with safety analyses such as Risk Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), and Fault-tree Analysis (FTA)
• Aerospace industry experience with Flight Controls, Flight Controls software, or Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems
• Experience with Quality/Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action and Root Cause Corrective Actions
• Familiarity with Military standards such as MIL-STD-1388-2B, S1000D, GEIA-STD-0007, or MIL-PRF-5041
