Production Support Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Monitor Sentry and CloudWatch for errors, exceptions, and anomalies during the night shift
• Triage, prioritize, and respond to alerts per SLA and execute runbooks
• Create, update, and resolve JIRA Service Management tickets with full documentation
• Coordinate escalations to Tier 3 and on-call engineers
• Diagnose failures across Django/FastAPI services, PostgreSQL, and React JS frontend
• Inspect CloudWatch Logs for ECS task errors, AWS Batch job failures, and Lambda/API issues
• Perform environment health checks and validate nightly backup and data replication processes
• Execute scheduled overnight maintenance including deployments and database migrations
• Document incident root cause and resolution steps in JIRA

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in Production Support, NOC, DevOps, or SRE roles
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (ECS, AWS Batch, CloudWatch, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC)
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
• Working knowledge of Django and FastAPI
• Experience with PostgreSQL diagnostic queries and connection management
• Familiarity with Sentry for exception triage
• Comfortable working with Docker and container logs
• Experience with JIRA Service Management and Git
• Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays on rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certification (SysOps Administrator, Developer, or Solutions Architect Associate)
• Experience with JIRA automation and SLA configuration
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions or CodePipeline
• ITIL Foundation knowledge
• Exposure to microservices architecture and RESTful API design
