Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a team of direct labor associates in the manufacture and assembly of custom fire and rescue vehicles.
• Manage daily assignments to meet production schedules, cycle time requirements, and cost targets.
• Ensure all quality, regulatory, and ISO requirements are met, including the authority to stop production if necessary.
• Review work for technical accuracy against engineering prints, bills of material, and work instructions.
• Maintain departmental safety and environmental compliance, holding employees accountable to OSHA and company policies.
• Provide technical expertise to assist operators with troubleshooting and complex problem resolution.
• Manage employee relations, including training, development, attendance records, and disciplinary actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies such as 5S, Standard Work, and Kaizen events.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Practical hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, welding, and metal fabrication processes.
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn company-specific systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements including OSHA, NFPA, and DOT.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and build teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle production or a custom manufacturing environment.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and Lean principles.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and value stream mapping.
