About the role

Responsibilities

  • Schedule labor effectively to maximize productivity and accomplish material and labor production goals
  • Plan parts required for production needs to ensure seamless manufacturing workflows
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping, and quality assurance processes within the department
  • Train, coach, mentor, and discipline employees, including conducting 90-day and annual reviews
  • Manage all departmental Human Resources paperwork, including attendance and vacation requests
  • Implement and direct environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience with direct production supervision experience
  • Proficiency with pneumatic and power tools (drills, screw guns, sanders, jig saws, etc.)
  • Carpentry experience and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
  • Training in Hazardous Materials Handling Operations and Hazardous Waste disposal
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with MAPICS and/or MRP systems
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a plant environment with varying temperatures and noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year college degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience in specialty vehicle, truck, or bus chassis manufacturing
  • Experience managing technical personnel
