Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead a team of direct labor associates in the manufacture and assembly of custom fire and rescue vehicles.
• Manage daily assignments of production personnel to meet schedule commitments and cycle time requirements.
• Ensure all quality, regulatory, and ISO requirements are met, including the authority to stop production if necessary.
• Review work for technical accuracy against engineering prints, bills of material, and work instructions.
• Maintain departmental safety and environmental compliance by enforcing OSHA and company policies.
• Provide technical expertise to assist operators with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean foundational blocks such as 5S, Standard Work, and Visual Management.
• Manage employee training, development, and departmental qualification matrices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of work-related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Practical experience in electrical, mechanical, welding, and metal fabrication.
• Experience in vehicle production or a custom manufacturing environment.
• Thorough understanding and application of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements such as NFPA, FAA, and OSHA.
• Strong communication, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn company-specific software.
