About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations performed by hourly production colleagues to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Oversee safety, quality, and production procedures while meeting environmental and housekeeping standards.
- Provide employees with necessary resources, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Make work assignments to shift personnel based on experience, training, and ability.
- Identify and contain environmental, safety, and GMP hazards, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Mentor front-line operators and develop training plans to build high levels of job proficiency.
- Evaluate colleague performance and provide regular feedback.
- Analyze safety incidents and complete incident analysis within 24 hours.
Requirements
- Previous plant processing and leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to lead and train colleagues and build effective teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work a rotating shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods, work in confined spaces or at heights, and lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
