Production Shift Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead all plant operations during assigned shifts to ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met
• Supervise and develop union employees and team leaders through coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Manage workforce planning, including scheduling, overtime, and resource allocation
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS and environmental standards
• Investigate production, safety, and quality incidents using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams to optimize plant performance
• Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Support labor relations processes, including grievance handling and fact-finding sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production setting
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and operational excellence
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Background in chemical or process manufacturing industries
