Production & Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Optimize production workflows by improving assembly and test processes to identify failures early
• Transition low-rate production builds into repeatable, scalable workflows
• Maintain version-controlled work instructions, test procedures, and checklists
• Define quality standards, inspections, and acceptance criteria for subsystems and full systems
• Perform root cause analysis on failures and implement permanent fixes
• Develop and run test procedures and validation workflows
• Establish incoming inspection processes and collaborate with vendors to improve part quality
• Provide feedback to engineering teams to improve design for manufacturability and testability

Requirements

• 3–8+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or quality engineering (hardware-focused)
• Experience working with electromechanical systems (e.g., robotics, marine, aerospace, or automotive)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality fundamentals
• Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone)
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and BOMs
• Experience developing test procedures and validation workflows
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and build structure where it does not yet exist

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling production from prototype to high volume
• Familiarity with marine or harsh-environment systems
• Experience with test automation or data analysis (e.g., Python)
• Familiarity with PLM, MES, or ERP systems
• Exposure to environmental or durability testing standards
