Production Planning and Supply Chain Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead production planners and buyers through coaching, mentoring, and performance management
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and planning functions
• Manage production planning activities to ensure material availability and meet demand
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and manage performance
• Implement systems and procedures to increase productivity using ERP and scheduling tools
• Lead root cause analysis for material shortages, inventory inaccuracies, and schedule misses
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to optimize capacity and inventory levels
• Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to planning and buying

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in team management and leading people
• Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and implementation
• Proficiency with MRP and planning systems (Oracle ERP experience is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage complex negotiations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rail car components, valves, or regulated industrial manufacturing
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 products
• Experience with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong background in global sourcing and logistics
