Production Planner

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for PCB assembly operations including SMT, hand assembly, and test
• Review customer orders, forecasts, and demand signals to create achievable production plans
• Release, prioritize, and manage work orders in the ERP/MRP system
• Coordinate with purchasing, receiving, and inventory teams to confirm material availability
• Identify material shortages, capacity constraints, and schedule conflicts to drive mitigation plans
• Monitor work-in-process, line loading, schedule attainment, and overdue orders
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change implementation
• Analyze planning data and production metrics to improve throughput and on-time delivery
• Maintain accurate planning parameters, routings, and BOM-related data

Requirements

• 5+ years in production planning/scheduling in electronics manufacturing (PCB assembly, SMT, EMS, or semiconductor)
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and capacity planning
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills
• Ability to read and interpret bills of material, routings, and demand plans
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or engineering preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SMT and PCB assembly operations
• Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume or low-mix, high-volume production
• Experience with NPI, ECOs, and controlled manufacturing documentation
• APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM
• Experience with KPI reporting and root-cause follow-up
