Production Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the plant in areas including production, processing, packaging, scheduling, sanitation, quality, and safety
• Manage performance of production, packaging, and receiving operations with a focus on cost, quality, and safety
• Develop, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing processes and equipment
• Oversee product quality by maintaining equipment and facility in sanitary conditions
• Provide guidance and development to production and supervisory personnel
• Develop and manage yearly budgets, monitoring departmental costs and expenses
• Promote and enforce safety programs, GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation standards
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering on capital projects and maintenance activities
• Manage daily and weekly production schedules and complete necessary production/quality records

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the dairy or food industry
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to support plant operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HACCP and quality/sanitation standards
• Proven ability to lead teams through organizational and operational changes
• Strong understanding of cost containment and budgetary principles
