About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible HSE leadership and champion the Life Critical Safety Process
  • Manage day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and production technician teams
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures (PSM, RMP, MOC, etc.)
  • Maintain required regulatory documentation and manage operating permit reporting
  • Perform process troubleshooting and make plant decisions to meet production needs
  • Identify and recommend process changes to improve HSE, reliability, and efficiency
  • Partner with the Reliability Team to execute predictive and preventive maintenance
  • Act as plant manager during their absence
  • Develop capital project scope, cost, and schedules as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in the process industry
  • Technical understanding of Hydrogen or Syngas plant processes
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA regulations
  • Ability to be trained on Distributed Process Control (DCS) operation and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Maximo, Workday, and Oracle
  • Strong communication, team leadership, and time management skills
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or flash suits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the industrial gas industry
