Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and manage back-end services, including fleet management, front-end services (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook), and critical infrastructure components.
• Write and review high-quality code, develop technical documentation, and create capacity plans.
• Debug complex problems in live production environments on some of the world's largest and most complex systems.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and serve as an escalation contact for service incidents.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure service reliability, performance, and scalability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with *nix (Linux or other UNIX-like operating systems).
• 7+ years of coding experience in an industry-standard language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, or Go).
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals.
• Experience configuring and running infrastructure-level applications (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL).
• Experience with Internet service architecture capacity planning or handling urgent capacity augmentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact.
• Experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.
• Ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt engineering or agent orchestration.
