Production Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production line performance to identify opportunities for improvement in throughput, efficiency, and quality
• Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the production line, including trials and validation
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support kaizen events to drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth and safe production operations
• Gather and analyze production data to support decision-making and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Support training efforts for operators and technicians on new processes or equipment
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude in a production setting
• Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for up to 12 hours
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds and stand/sit for lengthy periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping)
• Experience with JMP or Minitab
• Experience with CAD or production management systems
• Six Sigma certification
• DOE (Design of experiments) experience
• Coding skills
