Production Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly production cost reports to identify variances, root causes, and corrective actions
• Perform benchmark analyses of assembly hours and fabrication costs against global lead plants
• Define cost-per-hour targets for fabrication processes and lead initiatives to achieve them
• Lead monthly cost review meetings and facilitate cross-functional stakeholder coordination
• Support project engineers with cost analyses for localization projects and business-case evaluations
• Plan and execute concurrent cost-saving and localization projects to ensure realized financial benefits
• Provide regular cost and project performance updates to senior leadership

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing cost engineering, production engineering, or process improvement
• Experience in cost benchmarking, variance analysis, and manufacturing KPI management
• Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-site projects
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and Power Query
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or Business Administration with an operations focus)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments
• Proficiency with SAP
• Experience using Power BI
