Production Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison for news production and operations to ensure seamless daily broadcasts
• Take ownership of creating visually compelling content, including managing visual angles, lighting, and set arrangements
• Set up, position, and maintain studio equipment based on direction from the Production Lead
• Collaborate with engineering to optimize streaming systems and control room equipment
• Assist in organizing and preparing technical elements for special events and breaking news coverage
• Support the implementation of standard operating procedures to maintain workflow efficiency
• Maintain effective technical communication with newsroom and engineering departments
• Provide continuous technical support for live coverage of breaking news and community events

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training in broadcasting, media production, or a related field preferred
• At least three years of hands-on television broadcast or live production experience preferred
• Proficiency in operating production control room equipment
• Hands-on expertise with vMix, audio mixers, studio lighting, teleprompters, and studio cameras
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurately under time pressure
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating technical cues in high-pressure situations
• Ability to maintain composure and adaptability during breaking news events
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays
