About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate cameras and assist with studio floor directing
- Handle, move, and maintain props, sets, and production equipment
- Manage the construction, installation, and maintenance of cameras, prompters, and sets
- Prepare lighting and scripts for newscasts
- Maintain studio appearance, including cleaning sets and floors
- Operate and maintain the lighting grid and control board, including climbing ladders to adjust fixtures
- Edit syndicated promos for air and web content using Adobe Premiere
- Assist directors to ensure successful live broadcasts and post-production
Requirements
- Working knowledge of television newscast equipment and software
- Proven video editing experience
- Ability to handle the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
- Ability to work a flexible schedule required by the broadcast industry
- In-person attendance is required
- Videography experience is considered a plus
- Related military experience will be considered
