Production and Materials Planner

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of production orders, from initial design review to final shipment.
• Align material availability with manufacturing capacity and release production work orders to the shop floor.
• Participate in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle to improve forecast accuracy.
• Conduct workflow studies on capacity, cycle times, takt, and lead times to optimize production.
• Implement lean flow initiatives, including Kanban, batch flow, and pull strategies.
• Interface with Engineering for new product launches and design reviews to ensure timely hardware completion.
• Analyze MRP output to manage raw material requirements and proactively communicate shortages.
• Maintain system data integrity by updating MRP planning parameters such as safety stocks and lot sizes.
• Facilitate production status meetings and use visual management tools to track performance metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and data analysis.
• Experience working within AS9100 or ISO9001 quality standards.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (Kanban, Takt time, Heijunka).
• Proven expertise in capacity planning and the ability to develop Pareto charts for decision-making.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead meetings across all organizational levels.
