Product Security Engineer - Hardware/Firmware

Responsibilities

• Partner with firmware, hardware, and product teams to strengthen cybersecurity across product lifecycles
• Provide technical guidance on security requirements and controls for hardware and firmware-based products
• Facilitate product security risk assessments and threat modeling activities
• Assess security risks including authentication, secure boot, and cryptographic protections
• Support PSIRT activities including vulnerability triage and remediation coordination
• Author technical security white papers and customer-facing security content

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in product security, embedded systems, or firmware engineering
• Strong understanding of hardware/firmware security principles and threat modeling
• Familiarity with secure boot, cryptographic protocols, and firmware update security
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity standards and secure development principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SSDs, storage controllers, or flash technologies
• 3+ years of embedded hardware/software development experience
• Familiarity with FIPS 140, Common Criteria, and CVSS
• Experience supporting PSIRT or vulnerability response activities
