Responsibilities

• Develop and own a sequenced safety and certification strategy for Voya’s generator products, aligned to product milestones.
• Map and forecast safety, certification, and permitting requirements to identify potential roadblocks early.
• Translate safety and regulatory requirements into actionable product requirements.
• Partner with engineering, commercial, and product teams to ensure timelines align with certification pathways.
• Develop the safety and certification narrative for external stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and investors.
• Monitor the evolving regulatory, standards, and permitting landscape.
• Participate fully in the company safety program.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, product safety, certification, or product compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or a related technical field.
• Background in regulated hardware such as energy storage, EVs, distributed generation, fuel cells, or microgrids.
• Proven track record of developing safety and certification strategy.
• Direct experience working with NRTLs, AHJs, and utilities to certify and deploy hardware.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical storytelling.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with novel product categories or first-of-a-kind regulatory pathways.
• Familiarity with defense-sector regulatory considerations.
