Mill is a waste prevention technology company reimagining what it means to eliminate waste, starting with food. We build smart systems and infrastructure for homes, businesses, and municipalities that transform food scraps from landfill-bound waste into valuable resources.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality workstream for hardware NPI from prototype builds through PVT and mass production readiness
  • Develop Quality Control Plans (QCP), inspection criteria, and acceptance standards
  • Establish quality processes throughout the manufacturing supply chain, including first article inspections and in-process quality control
  • Define and execute qualification test plans in partnership with Product Design and Systems Engineering
  • Lead DFM reviews and DFMEA/PFMEA risk analysis
  • Serve as the on-site quality lead at Contract Manufacturers to drive defect triage and escape containment
  • Track and report build quality metrics such as yield, defect Pareto, and escape rates
  • Lead the design and development of gauges and inspection fixtures
  • Travel approximately 50% during peak NPI periods and mass production launches

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Quality, Supplier Quality, NPI, or Manufacturing Quality Engineering
  • Experience in consumer electronics or similar Contract Manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of quality, reliability, supplier management, and statistical analysis (SPC, Cpk/Ppk)
  • Proficiency with Minitab or equivalent analysis software
  • Hands-on experience across all NPI build phases (proto, EVT, DVT, PVT)
  • Professional working level English (B2 or higher)
  • Engineering degree (BS or MS) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related technical discipline
