About the role

About the Company

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality assurance across semiconductor, PCB/A, L10 server, and L11 rack integration partners
  • Establish and maintain IQC, IPQC, and OQC processes, including inspection criteria and control plans
  • Partner with suppliers to oversee SMT processes, including SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection
  • Partner with Test Engineering to define system-level test coverage, burn-in protocols, and reliability validation
  • Drive failure analysis and root-cause investigations using 8D, CAPA, and FMEA methodologies
  • Track and report quality metrics including yield, Cpk/SPC, defect density, and DPPM
  • Participate in ECO reviews and NPI build reviews to enforce quality gates
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to ISO/AS and IPC standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality for ASIC, semiconductor, PCB/A, or server hardware
  • Hands-on experience supporting L6 components, L10 server assembly, and L11 rack integration
  • Strong knowledge of PCB/A manufacturing processes (SMT, SPI, AOI, X-ray)
  • Experience managing IQC, IPQC, and OQC quality systems in high-volume environments
  • Deep knowledge of 8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, and Cpk methodologies
  • Experience tracking manufacturing metrics like yield and DPPM
  • Familiarity with server assembly, burn-in, and system-level test workflows
  • Ability to work on-site at supplier and contract manufacturer factories

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in AI ASIC or high-performance compute hardware
  • Experience with L11 rack-level integration and validation
  • Exposure to thermal/power stress testing and system reliability engineering
  • Experience ramping high-complexity systems from NPI to mass production
  • Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
