Product Manager, Safety Measurement

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy for OpenAI's safety measurement platforms to measure harm and safeguard efficacy in production
• Partner with data science, research, engineering, and policy teams to craft a vision for understanding safety outcomes
• Define strategic priorities and product roadmaps to scale measurement platforms across more use cases and products
• Establish repeatable processes to integrate cutting-edge AI safety research into measurement products
• Develop and refine actionable success criteria and represent quantitative safety progress to senior leadership

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management or related industry experience
• Expertise in AI safety, trust & safety, integrity, or related domains
• Background in data science, statistics, economics, or related fields
• Proven experience driving consensus and action in ambiguous, complex spaces
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep curiosity regarding interdisciplinary fields such as human-computer interaction, psychology, or philosophy
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
