Product Manager, Relevance and Personalization

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the roadmap for Airbnb's relevance and personalization platform
• Make prioritization calls balancing guest experience, host success, revenue, and marketplace health
• Partner with ML engineers and researchers to shape model strategy and experimentation design
• Align cross-functional partners including Guest, Host, MarTech, and Trust & Safety
• Design and oversee A/B experiments with rigorous metric design
• Translate complex technical tradeoffs into clear decisions for engineering and leadership

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience
• 3+ years on ML, search, recommendations, or AI-powered products at scale
• Proven track record of owning strategy for technically complex systems
• Strong experimentation fluency including A/B testing and counterfactual results
• Experience working on two-sided marketplaces or platforms
• Ability to engage effectively with Staff and Principal-level engineers and researchers
• Clear, structured communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LLM-based products in production
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, contextual bandits, or explore/exploit frameworks
• Background working alongside applied researchers or teams that publish externally
