Harper is an AI-native commercial insurance company in San Francisco. We're rebuilding the entire business as software, turning expert human judgment into compute to transform a trillion-dollar industry.

Responsibilities

• Own KPIs including conversion, handle time, accuracy, autonomous-resolution rate, and retention
• Encode domain nuance into rules, prompts, agents, and data structures
• Own the evaluation regime, including regressions, backtests, and outcome-mapped evals
• Build the data flywheel by working with data labeling and validation teams
• Manage cross-modal experiences spanning web, voice, and human interaction
• Prototype with AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Lovable
• Hyper-prioritize high-leverage tasks to move core metrics

Requirements

• 1–3 years in product, or early-career experience as an operator, engineer, or AI researcher
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a product or system
• Ability to argue AI tradeoffs regarding agents, LLMs, and context engineering
• Obsession with evaluation harnesses and KPI-driven development
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco, Monday–Friday, with long hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/ML products, voice AI, or agent frameworks
• Experience in workflow automation or prompt/context engineering
• Background in insurance, fintech, or regulated industries
• Prior startup experience
