Product Manager - Data Lake

Responsibilities

• Own the development and adoption of Wise's new data lake platform, transitioning the company to a modern lakehouse architecture
• Treat internal data teams as customers to understand their needs and shape the product roadmap around delivering value
• Drive platform adoption by ensuring datasets are faster, cheaper, and more trustworthy than legacy systems
• Onboard teams onto the platform and iterate on product improvements based on user friction and feedback
• Define and track key performance metrics including adoption rates, query performance, cost, and data quality
• Build essential metadata, ownership models, and access controls into the platform from the start

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of product management experience, or a mix of product and hands-on data work
• Proven experience shipping at least two platform products end-to-end
• Strong background in data infrastructure, including experience with pipelines, warehouses, or lakes
• Proficiency in SQL
• Ability to translate ambiguous technical requirements into a clear, staged roadmap with measurable outcomes
• Strong communication skills to explain technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with the modern data stack (e.g., Iceberg, Delta, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, or Airflow)
• Experience managing data migration or large-scale re-platforming projects
• Background working within financial services or other highly regulated industries
