Product Liability Investigator

Responsibilities

• Investigate defective products and assist attorneys in building complex civil litigation cases
• Evaluate case details to identify at-fault parties and determine case viability
• Research corporate structures and ownership using public and proprietary databases
• Secure, catalog, and maintain physical evidence while ensuring chain-of-custody integrity
• Conduct social media and open-source intelligence (OSINT) research
• Interview victims and witnesses to gather firsthand accounts
• Coordinate with scientific, medical, and economic experts
• Prepare detailed investigative reports and case development summaries
• Manage high-volume caseloads and maintain accurate case files

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in investigations, paralegal studies, or criminal justice
• Prior background in law enforcement, criminal investigations, or insurance adjusting preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel 75–80% of the time, including overnight and national travel
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a plaintiffs’ or personal injury law firm
• Knowledge of personal injury case types or employment labor laws
• Experience with legal case management software like Litify or Salesforce
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
