About the role
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a cross-discipline engineering team at the Asheville airfoil manufacturing facility.
- Provide engineering support for the Asheville casting and machining product lines, including technical leadership and production support.
- Oversee the full product life cycle, including producibility improvements, non-conformance dispositions, and field event investigations.
- Manage integration between Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs), part-responsible IPTs, and Asheville Operations/Quality.
- Support Model Based Definition, Manufacture and Inspection (MBDMI) deployment.
- Collaborate with Turbine Airfoil discipline leadership to align product design standards with manufacturing learning and field findings.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant work experience (or an advanced degree with 10+ years of experience).
- Proven experience in Product Design, including team leadership roles involving Production Introduction and Product Life Cycle responsibilities.
- Professional experience within the aerospace or aerospace manufacturing industry.
- US Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad understanding of Turbine airfoil design and manufacturing processes, including casting, machining, and coating.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in turbine airfoil technology.
- Previous supervisory experience managing Product Design team members.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
