Product Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own and build transcription features end-to-end, including audio capture on macOS and Windows
• Implement echo cancellation and connections to transcription providers/models
• Work with local transcription models and diarisation/attribution
• Develop transcription UI/UX for the desktop application
• Implement logging and evaluations to monitor performance and improvements
• Optimize the application for speed, scale, and reliability
• Interact directly with users to understand problems and design solutions
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers

Requirements

• Experience with audio capture and real-time media pipelines
• Engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies
• Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Experience with Electron is ideal
• Ability to work with native code and OS audio APIs (CoreAudio, WASAPI, etc.)
• Experience with speech-to-text models or providers
• Ability to work in-person from the London office most of the time
• Interest in AI/ML and a passion for building products in a startup environment
