Product Development Technologist

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare product prototypes using laboratory and pilot plant equipment
• Design and implement experimental plans and methodologies
• Assist with pilot plant trials, scale-up activities, and production validations
• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory and pilot plant equipment
• Participate in product benchmarking and sensory evaluations
• Conduct analytical and functional testing of ingredients using laboratory instrumentation
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to support decision-making
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, test records, and technical documentation
• Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations of project findings
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to procure materials
• Manage laboratory inventory and incoming deliveries
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline
• 0-2 years of experience in the food industry (Dairy applications preferred)
• Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to schedule changes
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks like reaching and bending
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including extended hours up to 12 hours for trials
