About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary systems engineering team through the full-lifecycle development of rugged deployed systems for military and aerospace applications.
- Own technical direction and execution across multiple product developments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Participate in bid and project activities, including defining architecture, developing technical proposals, and providing cost and schedule estimates.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and senior leadership.
- Manage 3rd party relationships and coordinate work for cross-site initiatives.
- Oversee the career development, training, and performance evaluations of assigned engineering staff.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving initiatives and guide root-cause analysis for complex hardware/software integration issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering (or a related field).
- 10+ years of progressive systems engineering experience, specifically with rugged deployed systems for harsh environments.
- 5+ years of formal leadership or technical management experience.
- Proven track record of delivering complex systems solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS and JIRA.
- Thorough knowledge of environmental and power standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160).
- Strong understanding of safety-critical processes (e.g., DO-254, DO-178C, ARP4754).
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Cameo.
- Experience guiding teams through RTCA/FAA certification.
- Experience conducting System Safety Assessments (SSA, FHA, FMEA).
- Deep understanding of leading-edge processors (Intel x86, ARM, NXP/Qualcomm) and high-speed interconnects.
