Product Development Engineer - Software

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the codebase for Stanley Engineered Fastening (SEF) Automated Fastening Systems to ensure reliability and performance
• Drive feature development by collaborating with Product Management and Sales to implement new software features
• Participate in building prototype systems and performing real-world testing and fastening operations
• Troubleshoot software and electrical system issues to support Plant Operations and Technical Field Services
• Write comprehensive test plans and perform validation testing to guarantee system quality and compliance
• Analyze large datasets from machine measurements, process logs, and sensor data to uncover actionable insights

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Object-Oriented programming skills in C#/C++, C, and experience with embedded systems in Linux environments
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting using multimeters, oscilloscopes, JTAG/in-circuit debuggers, and serial debuggers
• Willingness to work across various domains, including full-stack web application development

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in industrial automation or mechatronics
• Familiarity with industrial networks such as DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, or Profinet
