About the role
Responsibilities
- Optimize electronic hardware designs for producibility by providing expertise in electrical circuit design and manufacturability for PCBs and CCAs
- Communicate technical knowledge regarding the design and manufacturability of printed circuit boards and circuit card assemblies
- Use specialized tools to predict manufacturability performance prior to program design commitment
- Generate PCB/CCA standard notes, create PreCAD data packages, and support alternative design solutions to meet affordability goals
- Perform technology selection, trade-off analysis, and producibility assessments
- Interface with design stakeholders and fabrication/assembly suppliers
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for PWB/CCA during product transitions from supplier to supplier
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) or Printed Wiring Board (PWB) manufacturing or shop processes
- Ability to interpret PWB/CCA technical data packages
- Proficiency with the Valor NPI automated DFM tool suite
- Knowledge of industry IPC standards, including IPC-6012, IPC-2221, J-STD-001, and IPC-7351
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with design and producibility tools such as Mentor xDM, PCAT, POLAR SPEEDSTACK, or VALOR NPI
- Experience with Raytheon PWB/CCA technology Manufacturing Design Rules and Guidelines (MDRGs)
- Prior experience supporting aerospace or defense-related products
- Expertise in component selection for military and aerospace environments
- IPC CID or CID+ certification
