Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Research and investigate product criteria, functions, requirements, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with industrial designers to implement design visions and objectives.
• Create, maintain, and release accurate 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and material specifications.
• Develop and specify prototype fabrication processes and coordinate prototype builds.
• Evaluate and test concept models and prototypes against project objectives and requirements.
• Identify potential product problems and develop corrective actions using rigorous problem-solving processes.
• Work with manufacturing, supply management, and quality engineering to optimize designs for production and reliability.
• Manage individual tasks to meet project team objectives regarding budget and timing.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in new product development or continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Creo.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to execute solutions independently.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and their application in a manufacturing or development environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including production, engineering, and management.
• Proficiency in common office automation and engineering-related software.
