Product Development Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Direct project responsibility for the design and development of new and improved medical devices using concurrent engineering processes.
• Review design objectives with marketing and management to ensure product designs meet established objectives.
• Support the creation of project plans and schedules, and coordinate the development of prototypes, lab testing samples, and fixtures.
• Formulate and approve product specifications, materials, assemblies, and processes.
• Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, and Clinical Engineering groups to support the production startup of new products.
• Conduct design control activities, including user needs assessment, hazard analysis, DFMEA, design verification, and validation.
• Research new materials and processes to improve existing product lines.
• Analyze costs to identify and implement cost-improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in product development.
• Complete knowledge of the product development process and engineering principles.
• Demonstrated track record of contributing to new product development from concept to commercialization.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
