Product Designer

About the Company

Ownwell helps property owners reduce the costs of owning real estate. Our proprietary software automatically identifies property owners that are overpaying on real estate expenses, managing the end-to-end process of reducing bills through tax appeals, exemptions, and corrections.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers on new product ideas, from early concepts to shipped features
• Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately while understanding technical constraints
• Support and work alongside other Product Designers
• Support ongoing product iterations based on customer feedback, research, and data
• Help maintain and evolve the design system by keeping things clean, consistent, and scalable
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
• Advocate for accessible, inclusive, and clear user experiences

Requirements

• 3-7 years of product design experience at a startup
• Portfolio demonstrating holistic process and storytelling
• Figma fluency (components, auto-layout, prototyping)
• Solid grasp of UX fundamentals and interaction design
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to non-designers
• Experience working across web and mobile-web
• Tenacious, coachable, and low-ego mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Familiarity with property tech or fintech
• Portfolio including 0→1 or early-stage product work
