Product Designer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall design and product direction for internal People products at OpenAI
• Design and ship high-quality products and improvements, from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes and visuals
• Partner closely with engineering, product management, AI research, and design peers to define long-term strategy and short-term tactics
• Engage in user research to better understand users and refine products
• Contribute to and evolve the internal design system
• Help establish design culture and grow the team

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience shipping large-scale software products
• Portfolio showcasing strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills with a high bar for craft
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems and shape them into a clear vision
• Strong communication and storytelling skills
• Experience thinking through complex interaction design problems

• Excitement about being immersed in the AI research process
• Interest in defining how AI-first products should look and behave
