Responsibilities

• Build diverse prototypes ranging from quick volumetric shape studies to high-fidelity aesthetic and functional models
• Partner with the team to bridge the gap between CAD models and physical objects using Rhino, Siemens NX, and Fusion 360
• Operate and set up CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printers, and manual machine tools
• Execute hands-on processes including molding, casting, blasting, and polishing
• Explore new materials, finishes, textures, and colors to support design exploration
• Act as the studio's subject matter expert in making and manufacturing processes

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a prototype engineer, model maker, or similar role
• Strong experience in CAD and CAM programming (Rhino, Siemens NX, Fusion 360)
• Hands-on experience with CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printing technologies
• Expertise in building high-quality models from a wide variety of materials
• Exceptional eye for detail and quality
• Comprehensive portfolio showcasing mastery in model making and craftsmanship
• Ability to work 100% on-site in San Francisco
