Product Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage technical aspects of major product design and development projects using standard procedures
• Design, validate, and provide test reports to ensure production readiness and design for manufacturing
• Coordinate with CAD, FEA, and laboratory personnel and interface with internal departments
• Coordinate technical design and test aspects of projects with suppliers and customers
• Drive continuous improvement through process improvement and waste elimination
• Work with the product portfolio team to define project objectives
• Interface with end-users for technical support and develop action plans

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, Aeronautical, or related engineering field
• 4-6 years of experience in vehicle structural design
• Experience with dynamic structural analysis, finite element analysis, and fatigue analysis
• Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design and Analysis tools
• Demonstrated ability to manage development projects and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and occasional travel required

Preferred Qualifications

• Heavy or medium-duty truck experience
• Experience with controls, vehicle dynamics, vibration, or controls
• Experience with GD&T
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001
