Product Counsel

Responsibilities

• Review new products and features from early development through launch, providing practical legal advice on risks.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Compliance, Marketing, Engineering, and Risk teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Draft consumer-facing agreements, including loan agreements, TILA disclosures, and program terms.
• Review marketing collateral to ensure legal alignment.
• Research and identify issues related to consumer protection laws, commercial agreements, privacy, and other legal requirements.
• Manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.

Requirements

• J.D. and Bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of legal experience advising financial institutions or fintech companies (either in-house or at a leading law firm).
• Proven experience advising on financial products, specifically consumer loans, deposit accounts, and payments.
• Ability to work Pacific Time working hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of mortgage and HELOC products.
• Experience with RESPA compliance.
• Experience in both Big Law and fintech startup environments.
