Responsibilities

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity and creative storytelling skills
• Craft stories of various lengths for multiple platforms to engage specific audiences
• Combine live pictures, graphics, video, and sound to create engaging viewer experiences
• Meet daily deadlines and manage breaking news or community events via live streams
• Use data analytics to help shape show content and improve audience engagement
• Ensure diverse communities and viewpoints are represented in the news rundown
• Challenge traditional newsroom methods to drive innovation in storytelling

Requirements

• 1-3 years of news content experience
• Strong journalistic judgment and a commitment to accurate, fair, and unique local content
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under intense time pressure
• Proficiency in social media and an active news-focused online presence
• Ability to remain calm and effective during live, breaking news situations
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ENPS and Edius systems
