Responsibilities

• Craft stories of all lengths on all platforms for specific audiences
• Write news scripts that are succinct, accurate, balanced, and conversational
• Combine live pictures, graphics, compelling video, and emotional sound to create an engaging experience
• Create compelling teases to keep viewers engaged
• Meet daily deadlines and handle live, breaking news situations calmly
• Booth continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events
• Use data analytics to help shape the content of your show
• Ensure all communities and viewpoints have a voice and presence in your show

Requirements

• 1-3 years of news content experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong journalistic judgment and understanding of professional journalism tenets
• Top-notch communication skills
• Proficiency in social media and digital content production
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure
• Ability to handle changing events and breaking news environments
