Responsibilities

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity and creativity
• Craft stories of all lengths for various platforms and specific audiences
• Combine live pictures, graphics, video, and sound to create engaging experiences
• Meet daily deadlines and handle live, breaking news situations calmly
• Boost continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and community events
• Use data analytics to help shape show content
• Ensure all communities and viewpoints have a voice and presence in the rundown
• Challenge traditional methods and consistently try new storytelling approaches

Requirements

• 1-3 years of news content experience
• Strong journalistic judgment and a commitment to accurate, fair, and unique local content
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively under time pressure and changing events
• Strong social media skills and an active news presence on preferred platforms
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ENPS or Edius systems
