About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary owner of the legal intake queue, prioritizing requests and reviewing legal terms
- Draft, review, and negotiate high volumes of inbound commercial agreements including SaaS, MSAs, hardware, and consulting agreements
- Leverage AI to build and maintain procurement legal playbooks, standard templates, and clause libraries
- Partner with Information Security and Privacy teams to assess vendor risks regarding GDPR, CCPA, and AI governance
- Act as the dedicated legal liaison to the Procurement/Sourcing organization and refine Zip procurement workflows
- Manage pre-litigation vendor disputes, including breach of contract and service level failures
- Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure vendor compliance with anti-bribery and modern slavery acts
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
- 4-7+ years of legal experience with a focus on transaction/commercial law
- Deep understanding of software licensing (SaaS), services agreements, and data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA)
- Experience with Zip or other CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tools
- Ability to manage a high volume of deals simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Operational mindset focused on process improvement and efficiency
