Procurement Buyer II

Responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials necessary to meet manufacturing build requirements for multiple product lines
• Request and analyze quotes to ensure reasonable pricing and adherence to specifications
• Initiate purchases and contracts driven through the MRP process
• Negotiate critical and complex awards in accordance with Company and Government regulations
• Manage cost improvement initiatives and establish multi-year agreements
• Ensure material availability to meet manufacturing schedules while managing inventory turnover
• Investigate and resolve issues regarding receiving, invoices, or supplier discrepancies
• Develop commodity-specific suppliers based on quality, service, technology, and price performance
• Interface with technical and management personnel regarding changes in material, quantity, or delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in the Manufacturing, Electronic, or Aerospace industry
• Experience performing price or cost analysis
• Experience in vendor management and agreement negotiation
• Knowledge of FAR or experience supporting a government contractor environment
• Advanced to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Must be a "US Person" under US export laws

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or Oracle MRP systems
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement and strategic material planning
