Processing Technician I

Responsibilities

• Receive and inventory incoming fresh biological samples into electronic LIMS database
• Perform cell isolations and separate whole blood and body fluids into various components
• Perform cryopreservation of all isolated cells
• Prepare all reagents used in lab
• Create and perform first key of data collection sheets
• Perform equipment preventive maintenance
• Perform cell thawing and counting
• Order and inspect lab supplies
• Respond to freezer alarms in accordance to standard operating procedure

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
• Basic laboratory skills and training in aseptic technique
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs overhead with assistance
• Ability to work in cold freezer environments (-20ºC to -196ºC)
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Life Sciences
• 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Experience isolating PBMCs from whole blood or leukopheresis
• Previous experience with LIMS or QMS
