Queens Carbon is pioneering breakthrough technology to efficiently produce carbon-neutral cementitious materials — without the green premium. Our patented manufacturing process uses water to lower production temperatures, dramatically improving energy efficiency and cutting emissions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor pilot- and demonstration-scale process equipment in accordance with SOPs
  • Prepare equipment and materials for experimental and scale-up runs, including setup, calibration, and cleaning
  • Monitor key process variables, review trends, and respond to alarms or deviations
  • Execute sampling and material handling plans ensuring accurate labeling and traceability
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation components
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and startup of new pilot and demonstration-scale equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and operational observations
  • Interface with process controls systems (PLC/HMI) to monitor operating conditions
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists and engineers to translate experimental objectives into operating plans

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or process technology, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a process technician or operator role within a pilot plant or industrial environment
  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, pressure vessels, instrumentation, and solid material handling systems
  • Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, piping, and basic electrical work
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical documentation
  • Ability to work in person at the Cedar Grove, NJ facility
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior involvement in equipment installation, commissioning, or scale-up activities
  • Experience with PLC/HMI interfaces
